The incident took place in Hartford County around a5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 on Lydall Street in Manchester.
Manchester police responded to a home on Lydall Street for a report of package theft, said Lt. Ryan Shea, of the Manchester Police.
When they arrived on the scene, a FedEx driver reported he was attacked by a man while approaching the residence with a package, Shea said.
The driver said the suspect arrived in a vehicle and got out of the passenger side before approaching him. The FedEx driver got into a scuffle with the unarmed suspect during which he was punched in the head, Shea said.
Witnesses reported that the suspect grabbed the package and fled on foot.
The FedEx driver described the suspect as a light-skinned Black male in his 20s.
It is believed the involved vehicle was a grey Acura sedan with a temporary registration plate, police said.
The FedEx driver sustained minor injuries during the incident.
